The challengers got off to a flyer, winning 3,4 and 5 to open up a solid lead. But C&P struck back with wins on 6 and 9 to reduce the deficit to 1 at the turn.
The challengers then got back on the birdie run, winning 10, 12 and 13 to stretch the lead to 4 with 5 to go.
Fearing another early finish, the Captain then struck, making 3 net birdies to close the gap to 1 with 2 holes to play.
With the game evenly poised, Kenny’s deadly wedge from 50 yards secured another net birdie on the 17th and secured the 2 and 1 victory for the challengers.
